Frank Condon, former Artistic Director of River Stage, will join California Stage Theater Company as an Associate Director for its 2015 season. California Stage begins its work with Condon by mounting two staged readings of his newest play Axis Sally and her boys Feb 28th and March 1st.

Condon's Axis Sally tells the harrowing story of Mildred Gillars, known to American troops during WWII as the subversive, sweet-talking Nazi radio personality Axis Sally. Audiences will delve into questions about the play, its leading lady, and her trial for treason during the two readings held in the California Stage Theater Saturday, February 28th at 2pm and Sunday, March 1st at 5pm. Tickets are $10 general admission: $5 students, seniors and SARTA members. Call 916 451-5822 for tickets.

Condon joins California Stage after an illustrious career of provoking and enlightening California audiences with his controversial theatrical productions. From The Chicago Conspiracy Trial to Rap Master Ronnie, Condon has long focused on famous and infamous figures of national and international politics in his work. Audiences have also enjoyed Condon's work as a director at such venues as the Odyssey Theatre, El Teatro Campesino, the Mark Taper Forum, and others.

California Stage mounts its readings of Condon's Axis Sally and her boys one week after opening its West Coast premiere of Italian Opera, which will run February 20th thru March 22nd in the California Stage Theater. The California Stage Theater is located at the R25 Arts Center, a three-venue complex located at 1721 25th Street in Midtown Sacramento. Show times for Italian Opera are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Ticket prices are $20.00 for general admission; $15.00 for military, students, SARTA members and seniors; and $12.00 for groups of six or more. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 916-451-5822 or online at www.calstage.org. Highly discounted California Stage Season Passes are available through March 1st by calling 916-451-5822.
