With dazzling choreography, explosive percussion and tributes to Michael Jackson and Prince, DRUMLine Live returns to Folsom with a brand new show. A thrilling spectacle that pays homage to the show-style marching popularized at historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), DRUMLine Live provides a soul-stirring revue of some of America's favorite music. With musical highlights from hip-hop, Top 40, American soul, gospel, jazz and other musical genres, the 35-member cast-a world-class ensemble of percussionists, musicians and dancers-takes the audience on a journey infused with colorful, choreographed routines, vibrant costumes, and heavy doses of drum riffs and cadences.

Opening all three shows will be the region's own Grant Drum Line from Grant High School.

The performance of DRUMLine Live will take place at the Harris Center Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 7 pm and Friday, January 20 at 3 pm and 7 pm, with a 10% discount for Friday matinee single tickets. Tickets are on sale $39-$69; Premium $75. Tickets are available online at www.harriscenter.net or from Harris Center Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from noon to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time. Parking is included in the price of the ticket. Harris Center is located on the west side of Folsom Lake College campus in Folsom, CA, facing East Bidwell Street.

Created by the musical team behind the hit movies, "Drumline" and "Drumline: A New Beat," DRUMLine Live hasparaded onto some of the biggest theaters in America, Japan, and Korea, performing more than 300 shows since 2009. The 35-member cast of performers honed its talent with years of training in marching band programs across the United States such as Florida A&M University, Tennessee State University and Southern University and more.

The impact of HBCU bands on entertainment and culture is pronounced. Lifetime's "Bring It" is one of their highest rated shows and has led to an upcoming reality television show about the Alabama State University Marching Band. An HBCU-style drumline is common now among professional sports teams.

Opening all three performances, Grant Drum Line was founded in 2009 as an extra curriculum program to give students the opportunity to tap into their musical nature while "avoiding getting into trouble." Since then the program and the magnitude of exposure has grown. In 2015 it raised over $100,000.00 and, at the request of Congresswoman Doris Matsui, performed at the 2015 National Independence Day Parade in Washington DC as the official representative of the state of California. The Drum Line has appeared on MTV, Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel, and with ABC Good Morning America. The Drum Line has opened up for Shelia E, Yolanda Adams, and Johnny Gill (lead singer of New Edition).
