Due to popular demand Capital Stage has added two showtimes to the IDEATION performance schedule. New showtimes are Tuesday February 17 at 7pm, and Sunday February 22 at 7pm. Tickets are currently on sale online, in person and by phone.
Capital Stage continues its 10th Anniversary season with the 2014 Glickman Award Winner for Best New Play, IDEATION by San Francisco playwright Aaron Loeb. A psychological suspense thriller in which a group of corporate consultants work together on a mysterious and ethically ambiguous project, IDEATION received its world premiere at San Francisco Playhouse in 2013. CapStage's production will be the second staging of this celebrated new play. CapStage and Loeb previously collaborated in 2008 on the Sacramento premiere of his play, FIRST PERSON SHOOTER. IDEATION will run from January 21 through February 22.
A psychological suspense thriller in which a group of corporate consultants work together on a mysterious and ethically ambiguous project. Written with Aaron Loeb's darkly comic edge, the lines between right and wrong are blurred and these characters must navigate cognitive dissonances and moral dilemmas to decide for themselves if everything really is as it seems.
Aaron Loeb is a San Francisco Bay Area playwright whose work has been performed around the country. His full-length plays include THE PROUD, ALCESTIS (DOESN'T LIVE HERE ANYMORE), BROWN, FIRST PERSON SHOOTER, BLASTOSPHERE (with Geetha Reddy), and ABRAHAM LINCOLN'S BIG, GAY DANCE PARTY, which had its Off-Broadway premiere in 2010. Among the honors Loeb has received are: two Bay Area Theater Critic Circle Awards for Best New Play (FIRST PERSON SHOOTER in '07, ALBGDP in '08), Outstanding Play from the New York International Fringe Festival (ALBGDP '09), GLAAD Media Award Nominee (ALBGDP '09), seven "Emerging Playwright Awards" from PlayGround and the prestigious Glickman Award for Best New Play for IDEATION. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild, Inc and a Playwrights Foundation resident playwright.
IDEATION will be directed by Sacramento director Michael Stevenson (CLYBOURNE PARK, MAURITIUS) and will feature Capital Stage newcomer Carrie Paff as Hannah in the role she originated in the San Francisco Playhouse world premiere. Jason Kuykendall (LES LIAISONS DANGEROUSES) returns to Capital Stage along with company co-founder and associate artist Peter Mohrmann (HEDDA GABLER, AMERICAN BUFFALO) and local actors Russell Dow and Jimmy Sidhu rounding out the cast.
