Fresh off winning an Elly Award for best production of a new script, California Stage's final show of the 25th Anniversary season marks the upcoming presidential election with Elly-nominated director Gail Dartez directing Eric Baldwin in CalStage's stunning new staging of RFK by Jack Holmes opening on October 28th.

RFK looks back at the events leading to Robert F. Kennedy's momentous decision to run for president, in what would prove to be a pivotal moment in our nation's history. Award-winning actor Eric Baldwin captures Bobby Kennedy's passion for igniting a fire in the young people who "are angry and critical and are dropping out because they love their country," and fighting against the national leadership he felt was "calling upon the darker impulses of the human spirit."

Baldwin was most recently seen in Capital Stage's Love and Information. He follows his successful run as Lee Atwater in CalStage's production of the solo show Atwater: Fixin' to Die and has performed locally, nationally, and internationally.

Director Gail Dartez joins California Stage after earning an Elly nomination for her work on Big Idea Theatre's The Rover. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama, Gail's career as an actor, director, and theatre educator has taken her from the esteemed Long Wharf Theatre to San Francisco's Magic Theatre. She is currently an Adjunct Professor of Theatre with Cosumnes River College.

RFK by Jack Holmes will run Oct. 28th through Nov 26th on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 P.M. and Sundays at 2 P.M. in the Dennis Wilkerson Theater at the R25 Arts Complex, a three-venue center located at 1721 25th Street in Midtown Sacramento. Tickets are $12-$20 and may be purchased online at www.calstage.org or by calling (916) 451-5822. Group sales available upon request.
