Neat is a magical and beautiful one-woman show that illustrates the profound impact Auntie Neat has upon playwright Charlayne over the course of her life.  Performed by B Street Company member Danielle Truitt, Neat is the first show of the 2010-2011 B-3 Series.

Neat marks the first B Street production of a Charlayne Woodward play.  Her first solo play, Pretty Fire, was produced at the Odyssey Theatre in Los Angeles, Manhattan Theatre Club, Seattle Repertory Theatre and LaJolla Playhouse.  It received LA Drama Critics and NAACP awards for best play and best playwright.

Her second solo play, Neat, was developed at Seattle Repertory Theatre.  Neat was produced at Manhattan Theatre Club, where it received the Irving and Blanche Laurie Theatre Vision Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award nomination. It has also been produced at Seattle Repertory Theatre and the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.

Her third solo play, In Real Life, was commissioned by Center Theatre Group of Los Angeles and Seattle Repertory Theatre, and was developed at the Sundance Theatre Lab.  In Real Life was produced at Manhattan Theatre Club, where Ms. Woodard was nominated for Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards for best solo performance. The play also received an Audelco award, BackStage West Garland award, and NAACP awards for best playwright and actor.

Flight, her first multi-character play, was commissioned by P.L.A.Y. at Center Theatre Group.  It was produced by Center Theatre Group in the inaugural season of the Kirk Douglas Theatre in Los Angeles, and by A Contemporary Theatre (ACT) in Seattle.
