The Acting Company of New York will return to the Gallo Center for the Arts with William Shakespeare's "Hamlet" today, October 13, at 4 pm. The company last visited the Gallo Center in 2012 with "Of Mice and Men," performing before a capacity audience.
Tickets for "Hamlet" are $25, $30 and $40, and may be purchased at www.galloarts.org, by calling (209) 338-2100, or from the Gallo Center ticket office, 1000 I Street in downtown Modesto. "It is an honor to have The Acting Company back," said Gallo Center CEO Lynn Dickerson. "The amazing actors and the very high production values are just thrilling to experience." This will be the first staging of "Hamlet" in The Acting Company's 40-year history. Produced in association with the Guthrie Theater of Minneapolis, the production vividly dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet exacts for his father's murder, setting him on a journey seeking his personal mortality while exploring themes of danger, revenge and moral corruption. "Hamlet" was one of Shakespeare's most popular works during his lifetime and still ranks among his most-performed.Videos
