In this re-staging of the revival production of Godspell, a group of men and women come together in the early 1990's in a Seattle bar at the forefront of the Grunge music scene. This group of people from disparate walks of life find themselves in the bar at a moment in time where society is in transitioning from the glittering and roaring 1980's to the raw and real 1990's. At the precipice of the moment where technology and social media with change society irrevocably, it is here that they form a bond at the behest of a new messenger, and re-tell some of the most notable parables from the Book of Matthew through comedy, song, and dance. Together they create a community to share and enjoy these new found values, as they journey toward the inevitable weaknesses of human nature, and suffer through the betrayal and destruction of the very messenger who brought them together.
