A Suffrage Rummage Sale - The Auction InterruptedIn commemoration of the centennial of the passage of the 19th amendment, Chill Bucket Productions brings A Suffrage Rummage Sale to its growing virtual audience on October 27, 2020, just a week before the Presidential election. With the controversy and uncertainty surrounding 2020 and the upcoming election, producers Jeff Rocco and Dakota Martin hope to share truly thought-provoking theatre and encourage viewers to vote at the polls November 3. PRESENTED BY CHILL BUCKET PRODUCTIONS Produced and Directed by Jeff Rocco & Dakota MartinThis suffrage play, most likely performed by acting troupes at rallies, is rooted in reality as rummage sales were a fundraiser for the suffragists. As the title suggests, this particular auction is interrupted when two very silent women confront the crowd with their feelings on the suffrage movement. The play will delight the online crowd with its wit and humor, while still bringing to the surface many issues concerning not only womens suffrage but also basic human rights. Wrapped up in the perfect package of conciseness and brevity, Mary Winsors 1908 play uses irony, physical comedy and word play to deliver her message and appeal to the wider public. This humorous take on a struggle for equality that lasted almost a century (and for some, even longer than that) reminds us of the importance of our constitutional right to vote. Even more importantly, it reminds us to come together, work as one, and laugh. Featuring the talents of: Peter Ackerman, Sean Coffey, Julie Thaxter-Gourlay & Rachel SchulteCelebrate with Chill Bucket Productions on October 27, 2020 as we showcase female suffrage writer, Mary Winsor. In addition to our free virtual theatre offering, dramaturg Kelly Rodgers Flynt will join the cast for an incredibly insightful and relatable talkback about this play and the broader subject of the suffrage movement. The performance can be found on our website and YouTube For more information, please email chillbucketprod@gmail.com
