Executive Producers Larchmont-Mamaroneck Television, The Westchester Sandbox Theatre and Jovan C. Richards are proud to announce the official release date for The Drop Your Jaw Improv TV Show on LMC-TV. The pilot episode is scheduled to air tonight, December 12th at 11 pm. It will re-air on Saturday and Sunday at 5am, 11 am, 5 pm and 11 pm. New episodes are scheduled for the second Friday of every month. Once an episode has premiered, that episode will stream online on a video sharing website like YouTube.com or Vimeo.com.
"This television show is a brilliant way to enter our second year together as a group. I couldn't think of a better way, if someone paid me. On behalf of the group, I know we are all honored and thankful to be a part of something like this and to be working with two amazing local and community driven institutions like LMC-TV and The Westchester Sandbox Theatre," says Jovan C. Richards, the Creator and Producer of the Improv Group. Jovan created The Drop Your Jaw Improv Group in 2013 with the help of Paul Rigano, Ricky Romano and The Westchester Sandbox Theatre. Since the group's inception, they have performed all over The New York Metropolitan Area. The group was created to fill a comedic void that Jovan felt the Westchester County area was lacking. "Every time I hear comedy, I think of improv. And, every time I hear improv, I automatically think of 'Whose Line is it, Anyway?' which is what I had in mind when moving forward with auditions and creating a team that could bring a new sense and scene of comedy to Westchester," Jovan says. The cast all hails from different parts of our nation, but currently live in New York City or in Westchester County. The cast includes Abigail Rae Pechman, Erin Pryor, Jesse Alvarez, Aubrey Clinedinst, Andrew Baldwin, Ilana Warner, Taylor M. Dunn, Nicole Webber, Raquel de Souza, Brian Gabel, Aly Bitter, Jono Bornstein, Christine Schisano, Paul Rigano, Ricky Romano, Michael Mastroianni, and Jovan C. Richards.
"It's always exciting to have new and innovative programming that engages our viewers. I'm happy that we can not only showcase a unique program such as this one, but also partner with a fellow community arts organization like the Westchester Sandbox Theatre. We can only hope that this is the catalyst for what should be a fun, on-going alliance." says Matt Sullivan, the Associate Director for LMC-TV. The mission of LMC-TV is to strengthen the community by providing the supportive environment and facilities necessary to encourage freedom of speech, public dialogue and artistic expression that reflect the diverse interests and needs of the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Community.
"Creating DYJ with Jovan and having them as our house comedy group has been a thrill. They have grown as a group and have become a family. Their brand of comedy is new and fresh while still honoring some of the comedy legends," says The Westchester Sandbox Theatre. Owner, Daniel Ferrante, opened the Westchester Sandbox Theatre in November of 2008. WST is a full-time, year-round theatre facility located in Mamaroneck, New York. They produce shows for all audiences, but their proudest work is the work they do with young people. Producing ten Young People's Theatre shows each year, they give young actors a chance to shine on stage and share their love of theatre with other like-minded children. They maintain a positive, comfortable and constructive environment for children of all ages to grow as actors and as people. However, they do not limit their work to young people. Their main stage shows bring together brilliant and energetic talent, both local and from NYC to thrill audiences of all ages.
