Stepinac Alumni Theatre will continue their annual Shakespeare Under the Stars, with a Limited Engagement of The Bard's classic comedy; Twelfth Night, or What You Will.
The production will be performed on August 3rd, 4th, and 5th at 7 PM on the back lawn of Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains, NY. The production marks the 2nd year of providing the community with accessible performances of Shakespeare's work.
Filled with courtship, comedy and mistaken identity, the Bard's beloved comedy tells the tale of fraternal twins Viola and Sebastian, separated in a strange new land. Having survived a shipwreck and believing her brother Sebastian has been lost, Viola falls hopelessly in love with Duke Orsino and disguises herself as a man so she can be near him. Music, merriment and swashbuckling adventure abound in Twelfth Night! It's a gloriously gender-jumbled romantic tale with the kind of comic confusion that only Shakespeare could create.
For over 50 years, Stepinac Alumni Theatre has maintained an active role, driving fundraising efforts for the Stepinac Drama Club and its members. Through events and philanthropic pursuits, Alumni Theatre brings community to returning alums while supporting the students involved in Stepinac High School's theatrical program through fundraising and scholarship efforts.
The production includes a multi-generational cast and creative team of alumni that continues to come together to provide entertainment to the community and philanthropic assistance to the Stepinac Theatre Community. Directed by alumni Christian Amato, the production features alums Jeniffer Anderson, Chris Guzman, Kristen Bartolomeo, Lisa DiCarlucci, John Guaragna, Frankie Rocco, Pauline Ciavolino, Jesse Hernandez, James Prestopino, Seamus Higgins, Frank Portanova, Joe Venice, Chris Engler, Julian Amato, Matt Lotaj, Cathy Capasso, Samer Akroush, and Alfred Menna, with scenic designs by alumni Joe Lore.
