Penguin Rep Theatre presents the world premiere of The Farm, a new play by Walter McGough, directed by Mark Shanahan, and starring Drama Desk Award winner Michael Cullen, beginning Friday, September 27, 2013 in Stony Point (Rockland County), New York.
According to Penguin Rep artistic director Joe Brancato, The Farm is "an explosive modern-day spy story that asks how you move on from a life lived in shadow". Something went wrong, but Finn's not talking. Instead, he's retiring, and Parker needs to know why. But trust doesn't come easy at the CIA, and as the operatives match wits, it becomes clear that they may not even be on the same side.
The Farm, which will be performed through October 20, 2013, closes the professional Equity theatre's 36th season.
In addition to Mr. Cullen, the cast of The Farm includes Erin Cherry and Gian-Murray Gianino.
The production team for The Farm includes designers Anya Klepikov (set), Charlotte Palmer-Lane (costumes), Colin Whitely (sound), and John Wilder (lighting); properties/technical director Kyle Bridwell; and production stage manager Joshua Quinn.
Performance days and times for The Farm are: Thursdays and Friday evenings at 7:30 p.m., Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., with matinees on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. A special reduced-priced weekday matinee performance is slated for Friday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m.
Performances are slated at Penguin Rep Theatre's intimate, 108-seat theatre located at 7 Crickettown Road. The facility, a converted 1880s hay barn which was upgraded in 1986 and 2007, features air conditioning, wheelchair accessible rest rooms and entrance, upholstered theatre seats, and plenty of free parking.
Tickets to The Farm are priced at $39 each ($19.50 at the September 27 matinee). Discounts are available for groups of 10 or more and young people (30 and under).
