Penguin Rep Theatre presents Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies' Shipwrecked! An Entertainment: The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (as told by himself) for the final performance on Sunday, September 4 at Penguin's intimate, 108-seat theatre in Stony Point (Rockland County), New York.

Shipwrecked! An Entertainment is based on the true story of Louise de Rougemont who experienced an adventure to end all adventures, encountering wild weather, wacky characters, a giant octopus and tribe of aborigines after he set sail from London to see the world. Upon his return, Louis mesmerized Victorian England - and the world - with his incredible tale of being stranded on an island for 30 years.

According to Mr. Horn, "audiences young and old will enjoy this imaginative play filled with theatric magic".

Playwright Donald Margulies received the 2000 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for Dinner with Friends. His many plays include Time Stands Still, seen on Broadway last season starring Laura Linney, Brooklyn Boy, Sight Unseen, Collected Stories, and God of Vengeance (based on the Yiddish classic by Sholem Asch). His work has been performed at major theatres across the United States and around the world.

Under the direction of Thomas Caruso who staged Penguin Rep's 2011 season opener Greetings!, the cast of Shipwrecked! includes: David Arkema, Steven Hauck and Edena Hines.
Steven Hauck (Louis de Rougemont) starred on Broadway in Irena's Vow and recently performed Off Broadway in One Arm directed by Moisés Kaufman at The New Group. His NYC credits also include Spy Garbo (3LD), The Screwtape Letters (Westside Theater), King Lear with Paul Sorvino, and new plays with The Directors Company, Emerging Artists (company member), and the Young Playwrights Festival at the Cherry Lane.

David Arkema (Man) trained at L'École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq in Paris, France. He co-wrote, co-produced, composed music for, directed, and performed in Fabrik: The Legend of Moritz Rabinowitz which was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for in 2008.
Edena Hines (Woman) performed earlier this summer in the acclaimed New York Shakespeare in the Park's production of All's Well That Ends Well.
Director Thomas Caruso directed Around the World in 80 Days and Over the Tavern for Penguin Rep last season, and Ten Percent of Molly Snyder in 2008. Recent credits also include the workshop of the musical Southern Comfort (Playwrights Horizons), The Chalks (Bay Street), Abbie (Off Broadway), Man of the Year (Knitting Factory/Orchard Project), Therapy Rocks (NYMF), and Zombie (Off Broadway & Film).

The production team for Shipwrecked! An Entertainment includes designers Patricia E. Doherty (costumes), Sarah Lambert (set), Patrick Metzger (sound), and Cory Pattak (lighting); and stage manager Yumi Matsuura.
