A darker cousin to Almost, Maine,
John Cariani's newest play, Love/Sick, is a collection of nine slightly twisted and completely hilarious short plays. Set on a Friday night in an alternate suburban reality, Love/Sick explores the pain and the joy that comes with being in love. Full of imperfect lovers and dreamers - from a couple of obsessive/impulsives who can't stop kissing each other to the guy who goes hysterically deaf at the sound of the words "I love you" to the power couple who realize that they forgot to have the baby - Love/Sick is an unromantic comedy for the romantic in everyone.
Arc Stages is a community-based theatre company with the overall objective of providing an artistic haven for people of all ages. It is comprised of three stages, reaching children and adults at all levels. At the Educational Stage, students (youth and adult) can explore the world of theatre though a professional rehearsal process, master classes, outreach and intensive ensemble work. The Community Stage offers actors and singers from all walks of life the best in classical American musicals and dramas. The Next Stage is an innovative professional group that focuses on showcasing new and original works, but also features cabaret, workshops, and readings, and a playwriting festival.
