Broadway's habit-forming musical comedy smash SISTER ACT is based on the 1992 Whoopi Goldberg comedy and features original music by Tony, Oscar and Grammy-winning composer Alan Menken. This uplifting musical is filled with toe-tapping songs, outrageous show-stopping dancing and a truly moving story. A sparkling tribute to the universal power of friendship, SISTER ACT is reason to REJOICE!
When disco diva, Deloris Van Cartier, witnesses a murder, she is put in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won't be a found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with both the rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover. Soon, the gang is giving chase, only to find them up against Deloris and the power of her newly found sisterhood.
Rene O'Neal, last seen as Effie White in the Clocktower sold-out smash hit DREAMGIRLS, stars as Deloris along with Nellie O'Brien as Mother Superior. Clocktower favorites Miguel Angel Acevedo, Jennie Berkson, Elizabeth DiMeo, Maiysha Jones, Michelle Keriazis, Katie Luekens-Chan Chee, Sergio Marroquin, Mika Nishida, Christopher Oldi, Jesse Pellegrino, Jamie Whitfield and Martin Zeliger return to the Irvington stage in hilarious roles. Appearing with Clocktower for the first time are Katie McSherry, Cindy Cenname-Finegan, Chris Nardi, Jordan Singer, MaryAnn Mallozzi, Alexandra Gardella, Christine Gavin, Aileen Lanni and Kaylie Wilson. "We're going to have a fantastic time this season," said Artistic and Executive Director, Cagle McDonald, "I can't wait to share the fun of SISTER ACT and this incredible cast with the community! It's a guaranteed good time for the entire family!"
SISTER ACT is Directed by George H. Croom, with Choreography by Josue Jasmin, Musical Direction by Brent McGee and Produced by Cagle McDonald with Set and Lighting Design by David Lovett and Costume Design by Beyond Costumes.
