A riveting song cycle exploring the everyday struggles of love in the modern world.

A look into the private song vault of Richard Maltby, Jr. and David Shire (Big, Starting Here, Starting Now, Baby), the song cycle Closer Than Ever is filled to the brim with the brilliance for which these musical theatre giants are known.

Closer Than Ever is a nonstop exploration of everyday struggles in the "modern world." Topics ranging from unrequited adoration... to aging... to Muzak are tackled with resounding sincerity and precisely placed hilarity. Each song is a unique story told by a new character taking audiences not only into the songbook of Mr. Maltby & Mr. Shire, but into the minds of the individuals facing these completely relatable challenges.

Inspired by real-life experiences and stories, Closer Than Ever won the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical and netted Drama Desk Award nominations for both Maltby and Shire. Its' message to value the little things in life remains as meaningful today as ever.

The Closer Than Ever features a cast of local Westchester County favorites including Jennie Berkson, Katie Luekens Chan-Chee, Vincent Di Geronimo and Steve Taylor with musical direction by Kurt Kelley and directed by Broadway Veteran John Treacy Egan.

"Step aside, all you apple-cheeked newspaper boys and American idiots, you little mermaids and littler orphans. The grown-ups have something to say!" -New York Times, Critic's Pick

"Top-notch 'Closer' goes the distance! If you can't find something to relate to here, you simply haven't lived or loved... warmth and wisdom resonate throughout. A spot-on foursome of actors skillfully navigates the tonal shifts of this alternately funny, poignant and insightful show! Terrific!" -New York Post

"First rate! Magically comical... I just fell in love with it! This show is bigger than its four-person cast and we're closer than ever to believing in tomorrow because of it!" -Liz Smith

"Hilarious! Packed with emotion, the sort that sneaks up on you when you're not expecting it! Classy! Marvelous!" -Huffington Post
