Almost 110 years ago, in November 1905, The Colonial Theater in Peekskill presented its first play production of "The Wizard of Oz." Baum, writer of the children's novel, attended PMA for two years, which brings a special connection for those involved in this upcoming Peekskill performance.

The show is produced by Antonia Arts, Inc., a nonprofit organization based in Peekskill, NY, and directed by Broadway Professional Melodie Wolford, notorious for her performance in 42nd Street. The production includes actors and actresses from ages seven to sixty including local professional actress Gabrielle Sansone, playing "Dorothy."

Mohegan Lake resident, Gabrielle Sansone, who starred as Annie in the highly praised production at the Paramount several years ago, has toured internationally as an actress and is a rising star on her way to Broadway. This is Gabrielle's third debut at The Paramount. Her singing voice has been likened to a young Judy Garland who was the same age, 15 years old, when she played Dorothy in the famous 1939 film production.

Scott Schutzman, who, for over twenty years has appeared in over 60 professional film, TV, and theatrical productions, will play the "Wizard." Actor and writer, Stephen Velichko, will be playing "Tin Man," Actor Jim DeBlasi as the "Scarecrow", and actor Doug Bagnasco as the "Lion".

The Witch is played by Liz Peterson, Glinda is played by JeanMarie Garofolo, Aunt Em is played by Elaine Healy, Uncle Henry is played by Martin Posner, and the Gatekeeper is played by Denis McNamara.

Tickets are $15 for youth and seniors, $25 for general admission, children under 5 yrs. no charge. Group sales of 10 or more will be given a discounted price of 10%, 20 or more 20% discount.
