The JAZZ CULTURE Workshop & Jam Session is a vibrant monthly gathering celebrating the rich legacy and evolving future of jazz. Held on 2nd Thursdays at 8 PM at the Underground Railroad Café & Gallery in New Bedford, this event bridges generations of musicians and music lovers in an interactive workshop and open jam session.
Led by master musicians and educators, JAZZ CULTURE explores the roots, rhythms, and improvisational spirit of jazz, from classic swing and bebop to contemporary fusion and avant-garde expressions. The night begins with a workshop session, offering insights into jazz theory, technique, and historical influences, followed by an open jam, where musicians of all levels are invited to join in, trade solos, and create spontaneous magic.
More than just a jam, JAZZ CULTURE is a community experience, fostering mentorship, collaboration, and deep appreciation for one of America’s greatest art forms. Whether you're a seasoned player, an emerging artist, or simply a jazz enthusiast, this event provides a welcoming space to learn, play, and connect.
Bring your instrument, your voice, or just your love for jazz, and immerse yourself in a night of pure musical expression.
