Today, Trinity Rep adds to the magnificent synchronicity of the date (2/22!) by offering great seats for only $22 for the rest of the run of The Merchant of Venice!
The uncanny proliferation of the number 2, as well as 22, doesn’t stop there. The deeper we dug into this pattern, the more we noticed it was the perfect number for the classic story of Merchant – a complex play which contains two stylistically unrelated stories that intertwine seamlessly. The landscape of Merchant is rife with 22s! There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet – something that our Shylock (played to much acclaim by resident company member Stephen Berenson in his 22nd season with our company) could verify for you. Speaking of company members, Fred Sullivan Jr., who also appears in Merchant, has appeared in 22 productions of Trinity Rep’s A Christmas Carol. Which is not to detract from the play at hand, mind you; today’s performance on 2/22 will mark the 22nd performance of Merchant of Venice – one of Shakespeare’s 22 plays focusing on history or tragedies.
To take advantage of this offer, simply call
401-351-4242 or visit our box office at 201 Washington St. and tell them you’re looking for the $22 tickets. And don’t worry – while there may only be 22 mobile homes for sale in Venice, Florida at the moment – we’ve made sure to free up enough of these $22 seats to go around. And bring a date, while you’re at it; it takes two, baby.
