Theatre By The Sea owner and producer Bill Hanney, Producing Artistic Director Amiee Turner and Managing Producer Joel Kipper are proud to announce the opening of the Tony Award-winning Gershwin extravaganza, Crazy For You, sponsored by Meridian Printing.

Set in the 1930s, this TBTS premiere follows Bobby Child, the son of a wealthy New York banking family, whose desire in life is to dance on Broadway. Despite protests from his mother and fiancée, Bobby flees to Deadrock, Nevada, where he

meets the feisty local postmistress and falls in love. This high energy musical comedy features mistaken identity, plot twists, fabulous dance numbers, memorable Gershwin tunes including "Someone to Watch Over Me," "I Got Rhythm," "Nice Work If You Can Get It," and "Embraceable You" and the curtain falling on (of course) a finale of utter bliss!

Producing Artistic Director Amiee Turner, who directed last season's highly acclaimed productions of George M! and Evita, returns to the director's chair and is joined by music director Andrew Smithson, who music directed both Ain't Misbehavin' and The Producers during the summer of 2008 and Barbara Hartwig, who will be recreating Susan Stroman's original Broadway choreography. Stage and television actor, Sean Montgomery, will portray the role of Bobby Child, with Laurie Hymes portraying Polly Baker and Ira Denmark, appearing in the role of Bela Zangler in his sixth production of Crazy For You. Local performer Kate Arthur of West Warwick will portray the role of Patricia Fodor and native Rhode Islanders Jonathan Cooper and Beckley Andrews return to the Ocean State in the roles of Pete and Elaine.
