Spring is in the air, which means it must be time for the box office to re-open at Theatre By The Sea! Beginning on Monday, May 7 at 10:00 am, patrons may purchase tickets to any or all of the following productions scheduled for the 2012 Summer Season:

Forever Plaid: One of the most popular and successful musicals in recent memory, this deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash on the way to their first big concert. Miraculously, and humorously, they are revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was. The “Plaids” sing great nostalgic pop hits of the ‘50s in the closest of harmony, squabble boyishly over the smallest intonations, and execute charmingly outlandish choreography with over-zealous precision. Songs includes, “Heart and Soul,” “Three Coins in a Fountain,” “16 Tons,” “Rags to Riches” and many others. Suitable for all audiences.

Forever Plaid will be presented from May 30 – June 17.

The Sound of Music: Set in Austria in 1938, this Rodgers and Hammerstein musical follows the adventures of a high-spirited young novice who is ill-fitted for the life of the convent. Sent to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval officer, Maria wins their hearts (and his) with her exuberant love of life. The family's attempt to escape from the Nazis is one of the most thrilling and inspirational finales ever presented onstage. This beloved family classic features a glorious score including “My Favorite Things,” “Climb Ev’ry Mountain.” and “The Sound of Music.” Suitable for all audiences.

The Sound of Music will be presented from June 20 – July 14.

9 to 5: The Musical: OSTC is excited to present another Rhode Island Premiere! This hilarious musical based on the popular movie of the same name tells the story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era, when three unlikely friends and co-workers conspire to take control of their company and learn there's nothing they can't do -- even in a man's world. Featuring an original score written by Dolly Parton, 9 to 5: The Musical is about teaming up and taking care of business... it's about getting credit and getting even... it’s about livin’ and “workin’ 9 to 5!” Contains adult language and content.

9 to 5: The Musical will be presented from July 18 – August 11.
