The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) has just announced a two-week limited engagement of The SantaLand Diaries by award-winning humorist David Sedaris, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello.
Following previous smash-hit runs of the popular show (2006, 2007, 2009), Gamm Resident Actor Steve Kidd reprises his role as Crumpet the surly Macy's elf in the retelling of Sedaris' comic monologue about life in a crass, commercial winter wonderland. Gamm Artistic Director Tony Estrella directs this laugh-out-loud gift of unconventional holiday humor. The SantaLand Diaries runs from December 13-23 only at The Gamm Theatre, 172 Exchange St., Pawtucket, RI.
Tickets are $33 for the December 13 press preview, and $44 for the regular run. Students tickets are $20. All seats are general admission. Call 401-723-4266 or buy tickets online at gammtheatre.org.
ABOUT THE PLAY
From award-winning humorist, playwright and National Public Radio contributor David Sedaris, a dose of unconventional holiday humor. The author's real-life experiences as a Macy's Christmas elf named Crumpet... including a humiliating job interview, elf indoctrination, run-ins with miscast Santas, pushy parents and a host of oddball characters...are merrily subversive and fall-on-your-knees funny! Contains mature language and themes, and may not be appropriate for young children.
