Sarah Brightman Comes to PPAC in February

J.L. "Lynn" Singleton, President of the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), has announced that Sarah Brightman will perform at the 2013 PPAC Gala on Friday, February 15, 2013. A performance time will be announced at a later date.

The PPAC Gala is a black-tie optional event. Tickets are $250 each and include the concert, post-show party at PPAC, and parking. Gala tickets are tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 10A at the PPAC Box Office, online at www.ppacri.org and by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787). The PPAC Box Office is located at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence. Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday, 10A to 2P; and through curtain time(s) on performance days.

Tickets for Ms. Brightman's concert are $130, $100, $80, and $60; all ticket prices include a $3 per ticket restoration charge and are subject to change without notice. Unique VIP concert packages will also be available, offering concert-goers an engaging and intimate "Dreamchaser" experience.

Ms. Brightman's new album "Dreamchaser" will be released on January 22, 2013, and she will begin her "Dreamchaser" World Tour in the same month, visiting five continents.

Over the past two and a half decades, Ms. Brightman has distinguished herself as the world's biggest selling soprano of all time with global sales reaching over 30 million units. She has received more than 180 gold and platinum awards in over 40 countries. Ms. Brightman pioneered the classical crossover music movement and is the only artist to have simultaneously topped the Billboard dance and classical music charts.

She was also the first artist to have been invited to perform the official theme songs at the Olympic Games on two occasions. The first was at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games which was followed 16 years later by a performance at the opening ceremony in Beijing.

Ms. Brightman recently accepted the UNESCO nomination to be an "Artist for Peace" Ambassador for her "commitment to humanitarian and charitable causes." She has appeared in several films, includingRepo! The Genetic Opera (2008), directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, and Stephen Evans' First Night (2011).
