Singer-Songwriter Jackson Browne will visit the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) tonight, August 20, 2014 at 7:30P. Playing guitar and piano, Jackson will perform songs from his entire body of work.
Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday, 10A to 2P; and through curtain time(s) on performance days. Summer Box Office Hours begin May 27 and are Monday through Thursday, 10A to 3P and through curtain time(s) on performance days.
2014 will also see two new Jackson Browne releases. To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Late For The Sky, originally released in September 1974, the album has been re-mastered and will be released later this year on 180gram vinyl (standard 33 1/3 RPM), all digital platforms, and on CD in a new eco-digipak in a partnership between Rhino Records and Inside Recordings. Also, this fall, Jackson will release a new studio album, the thirteenth of his career.Jackson Browne has written and performed some of the most literate and moving songs in popular music and has defined a genre of songwriting charged with honesty, emotion and personal politics. He was honored with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007. Beyond his music, he is known for his advocacy on behalf of the environment, human rights, and arts education. He's a co-founder of the groups Musicians United for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org.
