With "Communicating Doors" by Alan Ayckbourn the Granite Theatre is stretching into even greater, more challenging contemporary works of theatre, bound to intrigue and delight all audiences. Ayckbourn, a master of comedies of manners shows his versatility in this hilarious comic time traveling thriller, packed with surprises that keeps the audience on their seat edges. The show opens Friday March 17, 2017 and runs all Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 2pm except Sunday March 19 and Thursday March 23 through April 9, 2017. Producer/ Artistic Director for the theatre is David Jepson.
Brian Olsen (Westerly, RI) directs the show. The cast features, Keith Brayne (Waterford, CT), Sandy Gaccione (Westerly, RI), Jane Mandes (Westerly, RI), Chris Maxwell (Cranston, RI), Tom Steenburg (Mystic, CT) and Veronica Strickland (Waterford, CT).
This intricate time traveling comic thriller by the British master of comedy delighted London and New York audiences. A London sex specialist from the future stumbles into a murder plot that sends her, compliments of a unique set of hotel doors, traveling back in time. She and two women who were murdered in 2017 and 1997 race back and forth in time trying to rewrite history and prevent their own violent ends. The frantic race begins when Poopay is hired for an evening at the Regal Hotel by an old man who eschews a fling in favor of confessing his role in the demise of his wives. Now a target, Poopay flees into the vestibule and somehow triggers the time machine.
"Communicating Doors" performances are Thursday through Saturday Evenings at 8 pm and Sunday Matinees at 2 pm except Sunday March 19 and Thursday March 23.
