Photo Flash: First Look at Granite Theatre's THE PRISONER OF SECOND AVENUE

"The Prisoner of Second Avenue" by Neil Simon is opening August 3 at the Granite Theatre. Producer/ Artistic Director for the theatre is David Jepson. The show runs August 3 - 26, 2018.

Mel Edison is a well-paid executive of a high-end Manhattan firm, which has suddenly hit the skids, and he gets the ax. His wife Edna takes a job to tide them over, then she too is sacked. Compounded by the air-pollution killing his plants, and with the walls of the apartment being paper-thin, allowing him a constant earful of his neighbors' private lives, things can't seem to get any worse when his psychiatrist dies. Mel does the only thing left for him to do-he has a nervous breakdown and it's the best thing that ever happened to him... As hilarious as it is topical. Possibly Neil Simon's funniest show!

Jude Pescatello (Groton, CT) directs. The cast features Mark Foster (Waterford, CT). Diane Foster (Waterford, CT), John Andriso (Norwich, CT), Judy George (Westerly, RI), Linda Shea (Pawcatuck, CT) and Katherine Kimmel (Coventry, CT).

Patrons may enjoy a selection of wines, beers and soft drinks from the theatre's cash bar at all performances in the comfortable, spacious lobby of the beautifully refurbished, historic theatre. Opening nights of each new production feature an opportunity to share "Pizza with the Cast" and mixer of patrons and performers.

"The Prisoner of Second Avenue" opens August 3, 2018 at The Granite. Performances are Thursday through Saturday Evenings at 8 pm and Sunday Matinees at 2 pm except Thursday August 9. Tickets for this show are $20, 62 and older is $17 and children (12 and under) are $12.
