Counter-Productions Theatre Company presents FROST/NIXON by Peter Morgan. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
Three years after resigning in disgrace, fallen commander-in-chief Richard M. Nixon agrees to sit for an all-inclusive interview with David Frost, a television personality known more for producing puff pieces than hard hitting journalism. These two personalities square off in a battle over one of the most infamous presidencies in American history. The play explores the events leading up to and including the famous 1977 interviews. With these interviews, Nixon endures the trial he had never received and the nation gets the confession it so desperately longs for.
The play is directed by Michael Ducharme, former General Manager of Trinity Repertory Company in Providence, Rhode Island; Dallas Theatre Center in Dallas, Texas; Berkeley Repertory Theatre in Berkeley, California; and former Artistic Director of the Ukiah Players Theatre in Ukiah, California. Ducharme, who now serves as Director of the Nazarian Center at Rhode Island College, is anxious to "bring the fascinating story of President Richard M. Nixon's political suicide to vivid life on stage."
