Ocean State Theatre Company continues its Family Fun Fest with the tall tales, legends, jokes, songs, proverbs, riddles, rhymes and games, which mix together to create the family-friendly play with songs, Thunder and Potatoes, which will be presented at Ocean State Theatre for one performance only on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 am.

What in TARNATION?!? Drawing inspiration from everyday life, Thunder & Potatoes is tales and legends, anecdotes and songs, tunes, dances, and games. It's proverbs and sayings, and rhymes and riddles! It's the lore of special regions and special places. It's the belief and wisdom that comes with living. It's all the little practices and gestures and ceremonies of daily life. Join us for a mythical journey into the frontier and the lives of legends like Johnny Appleseed, Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, Calamity Jane and John Henry. Audience participation includes being a part of the boasting competition, the pie eatin' contest, or the world famous on-stage jug band! Stop on by and sit a spell. We'll spin some yarns, boast a bit, and share the tradition.

Directed by Director of Educational Programming and Community Outreach, Jason Loete, this delightful production will be performed by Ocean State Theatre Company's OSTeenCo., which was created to provide an opportunity for teen actors to benefit from a professional theatre experience, culminating in the performance of two productions, which are part of OSTC's 2016-17 Family Fun Fest. This year's OSTeenCo features the talents of Douglas Meeker and Haley Pine of Barrington; Kate Marshall Fitzgerald, Abigail McMahon, Lily McMahon, Mary Mullane and Eva Senerchia of Warwick; Timothy Neal Fine and Bryn ElizaBeth Martin of North Kingstown; and Grant Whitney of East Greenwich.

Thunder and Potatoes will be presented on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 am. The theatre is located at 1245 Jefferson Boulevard, Warwick, RI. Single tickets are $10.00 each with packages of three Family Fun Fest shows or more for $8.00 per ticket. Discount rates are available for groups of 20 or more by calling (401) 921-1777 x112.
