Ocean State Follies Come To The Granite Theatre For One Night Only Image

Get ready for a wicked take on the Ocean State! The Granite Theatre welcomes to Westerly the infamous Charlie Hall 's Ocean State Follies for one-night only Friday October 5, 2018! Show starts at 8 PM and tickets are $25.

Ocean State Follies enjoyed a twenty-year run of mocking everything Rhode Island before going on hiatus. It is the comical brainchild of Charlie Hall, a New England headliner who was inducted into the Rhode Island Heritage Hall of Fame in 2016, and who had opened for several national acts. The Ocean State Follies had a raucous brand of comedic takes on everything Rhode Island. Both Hall and the Ocean State Follies captured Best of Rhode Island Awards multiple times for Comedian and Comedy Show, respectfully, before being retired in the Best of Rhode Island Hall of Fame. Traditional shows from the Follies include singing, dancing, skits and impressions all done with a thick Rhode Island accent. It's good to welcome back a Rhode Island classic.

This latest version of the Ocean State Follies focuses on the elections and candidates, both local and National. Follies fans can expect spoofs on the debates, the campaign commercials, the media, the polls and much more. There are "appearances" from President Trump ("It's My Party and I'll Lie if I Want To"), Melania, Sheldon Whitehouse ("Hot Hot Hot"), David Cicilline, Joe Trillo, Allan Fung ("Girls Just Wanna Have Fung"), and of course Gina our Governor who gives a Tina Turner- like performance in her number "Tollin' All the Truckers". Hilarious!

The Follies will still throw in a few of their favorite bits like the Rhodonics Flashcards, hairdressers Cheryl and Rhonda and the news with Gene Valicenti....and some local Bristol jokes too!

Reservations for this comedic gem of a show are available by calling the box office at 401-596-2341 or pick your seats and by online at www.granitetheatre.com.
