Jeremy Jacobs' talent for building sand castles and digging moats has earned him an invitation to join the crew of Captain Braid Beard's ship. Living the high life at sea, Jeremy trades manners for mayhem as he rolls in stolen treasure, sings sea chanteys, and practices his pirate talk with all his new pirate friends. It's a grand adventure, until Jeremy remembers all the things he left behind such as bedtime stories and goodnight kisses. And, what about soccer practice tomorrow? Surely, the pirates can be convinced to take him home!
Adapted for the stage by award-winning composers, lyricists, and playwrights Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, How I Became a Pirate is filled with wacky pirates and silly songs including "A Good One To Boot," "Green Teeth," "I'm Really Just a Sensitive Guy," "You've Got to Talk Like a Pirate," "Pirates Dot Aaargh!," and many others.
Directed and choreographed by Managing Producer Joel Kipper, this swashbuckling musical adventure features the talents of Mike Daniels of North Providence, Meghan Rose Donnelly of Matunuck, and Valerie R. Myette of North Kingstown, who were involved with OSTC's inaugural production of Neil Simon's Fools; Derek Capobianco of Cranston, who appeared in RENT, Legally Blonde, and LES MISERABLES; Josh Christensen of Warwick, who appeared in RENT, The King and I, Miracle on 34th Street and LES MISERABLES; Brad Kirton of Coventry, who appeared in Fools and Legally Blonde and Bobby Miller III of Cranston, who made his OSTC debut as Gavroche in LES MISERABLES.
