The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) will hold its annual fundraiser on Monday, April 1 at 6 p.m. at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI. GAMM GALA 34 will honor Steve Durkee with The David Wax Award for Outstanding Commitment to the Arts in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the arts in Rhode Island. This special evening also celebrates The Gamm's first season in its new Warwick home.
"Steve has been a patron and supporter of The Gamm and a champion of interdisciplinary artists for decades. For years Steve has been an unsung hero of our artistic community and it is an honor for us to celebrate his quiet dedication to the culture of Rhode Island," said Managing Director Oliver Dow.
On The Gamm's recent move to Warwick, Artistic Director Tony Estrella added, "We are so excited to celebrate our first season in our terrific new home. We are four productions in and our artists and audiences have been blown away by the transformative power of the space, its comfort and accessibility. Moving to this welcoming community has put us at the center of the state and opened us up to many new patrons. We have much to be thankful for."
Guests will enjoy an open bar cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, followed by a 3-course sit-down dinner by Russell Morin Catering and Events. There will be a raffle and an exciting live auction. Music will be provided by the Tom Chace Trio.
Tickets start at $200 per person. Space is limited, so guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets early. Call 401-723-4266, ext. 132 or buy online at gammtheatre.org.
