The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre board of directors will host the theater's annual fundraiser on Monday, March 30 at 6 p.m. at the Center by the Blackstone, 175 Main St., Pawtucket.
GAMM GALA 2015: THE GAMM TURNS 30 celebrates three decades of fearless theater and honors David M. Wax, the theater's recently retired managing director. Emceed by Gamm Artistic Director Tony Estrella, this special evening highlights the theater's 12 years in Pawtucket with scenes from some favorite productions performed live by members of the original casts.
"Our 25th anniversary five years ago allowed us a year of looking back at the extraordinary journey of The Gamm since its birth in Providence in 1984. We are 30 now, so we thought it appropriate to honor our re-birth here in Pawtucket and focus on 12 seasons in our current home," said Artistic Director Tony Estrella. "The move here changed everything, so this is our opportunity to celebrate and say thank you to the City of Pawtucket, our supporters, the artists and the staff who have made it all possible. I am particularly thrilled and humbled to honor David Wax for his tireless efforts as both our former board president and managing director. His vision, generosity and effectiveness over many years are greatly responsible for our present strength and have readied us for an incredible future."
Guests will enjoy an open bar cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, followed by a 3-course sit-down dinner by Russell Morin Fine Catering. A silent auction starts online on March 19 at biddingforgood.com/gammtheatre and will conclude at the event. Tickets start at $175 per person and may be purchased by calling The Gamm's development department at 401-723-4266, ext. 20, or by visiting gammtheatre.org. Space is limited, so guests are encouraged to order early.
For information about sponsorships, please contact Director of Development Kate Anderson at 401-723-4266 ext.16 or Anderson@gammtheatre.org. Ticket and auction proceeds from GAMM GALA 2015: THE GAMM TURNS 30 support the non-profit theater's productions and educational programs.
