Epic Theatre is thrilled to announce the commencement of our new Free-for-All Education Initiative, which will allow high school students to see any show in our 2015 - 2016 Season at no cost.
"Many theaters--including ours--do Pay-What-You-Can nights and offer discounts to students," says Artistic Directed Kevin Broccoli, "But a lot of the time, that's still not enough of a push to compel students to venture out and see something. We think we can do something about that."
Beginning with its September show, Epic will offer a limited number of free seats to high school students for every single performance of every show in the 2015 - 2016 Season.
"We're hoping it will inspire students, teachers, and parents to check out what we have to offer," says Broccoli, "With a season that goes back to basics, featuring classics like Pride and Prejudice and Great Expectations, it seemed like the perfect time to put a plan like this into action."
The logistics are simple. If a student is interested in seeing a performance of an Epic show, e-mail EpicTheatreCompanyRI@gmail.com, and a representative will get back to them letting them know their seat is reserved for that performance. If Epic can't accommodate the student for that date, they'll try to get you into another performance of the same show.
"We think this is a great way to kick off a new season and a new school year, and we hope it'll create a whole new generation of theater lovers."
Epic Theatre's new season begins in September with an adaptation of The Women, followed by a new play based on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm in October.
