The company is offering spring courses and summer camps for youth and adults. A five-week class for 7-10 year-olds, Saturday Morning Drama Club, starts April 30 from 11:30 am to 1 pm and offers a new spin on the company's popular class. Students get to create their own characters, costumes, props, and even paint their own set, all with the help of professionals from the theater.
Students ages 10 on up to senior citizens are all welcome in the Beginning Juggling class, taught by Maggie Cady, who grew up juggling and performing with her family in the Midwest.
"I have been wanting to teach a juggling class ever since I started working at the theater," says instructor Maggie Cady. "The class is great because everyone learns at their own pace, and I can tailor individual instruction to each person."
More fun is in store for the summer with camps for ages 7-14. Students are immersed in the theater world, learning everything from acting to improv to juggling to scenic painting in a week long camp that runs all day. Drama Club Summer Camp for ages 7-10 runs July 18-22, 9 am - 3 pm, and Creative Drama Summer Camp for 11-14 runs July 25 - 29, 9 am - 3 pm.
"It's a great opportunity for students to see a project through from beginning to end - from rehearsals to technical elements to performance," says Communications Director Maggie Cady.
Registration is open on the theater's website for all of these classes. Improv classes and other opportunities for adults run year-round and can also be found on the website.
