Be A 'Fairy Godmother', Donate A Dress to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State in Celebration of CINDERELLA at PPAC

The Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC), Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS), and the company of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA are pleased to announce that starting now through Friday, October 17 at 3P, donations of girls' princess and teen prom dresses for girls in need will be accepted at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State Donation Center's Cranston, RI location at 1540 Pontiac Avenue.

As a special thank you from PPAC and CINDERELLA, a $10 off ticket purchase coupon is available for the Thursday, October 16 or Friday, October 17 performances of CINDERELLA*.

The National Tour of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA launches at PPAC October 10 - 18, 2014. CINDERELLA is part of the Taco/White Family Foundation Broadway Series. Tickets are available at the PPAC Box Office (220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence), online at www.ppacri.org and by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787). Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday, 10A to 2P, and at least two hours prior to all curtain times. The PPAC Box Office is open on Monday, October 13 from 10A to 5P.

Donated dresses will be offered free of charge to the families involved in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State's mentoring programs. Unclaimed dresses will be resold through the retail thrift store Savers to raise funding for the BBBSOS mentoring programs. A tax donation form is available upon request.

This initiative is part of PPAC's partnership program "Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State: Big Dreams Begin With Broadway" and reflects Big Brother Big Sisters' mission to change the lives of children facing adversity for "the better, forever."

Actress Danielle Jordan, a swing in CINDERELLA, who assisted in spearheading the project in Providence, referenced the following quote as her basis for inspiration:
