Barbara Dreyer to be Honored at Gamm Gala 31

The Sandra Feinstein-Gamm Theatre (The Gamm) will hold its annual fundraiser on Monday, April 11 at 6 p.m. at the historic Pawtucket Armory, 172 Exchange Street, Pawtucket.GAMM GALA 31 will honor Barbara Dreyer of Capital Properties with the first annual David Wax Award for Outstanding Commitment to the Arts

in recognition of her remarkable contribution to the performing arts in Rhode Island. This special evening also celebrates The Gamm's accomplishments and its vision for the future.

"It's been a tremendous season and I can't wait to celebrate it with our artists, staff, board and, most importantly, our audience. Aside from enjoying a great party, I am most excited for the chance to honor Barbara for her decades-long contribution to the Rhode Island arts community. She has been a quiet giant, leading by selfless example and enriching the cultural fabric of our state," saidArtistic Director Tony Estrella.

Managing Director Oliver Dow added, "David Wax spent his entire life in service to the arts as a leader, administrator and patron. We have named this award in appreciation of his service to The Gamm, and to pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated a similar commitment to promoting and preserving the arts in our community. Barbara Dreyer has embodied these principles for decades and we are delighted to recognize her dedication to the numerous artistic disciplines."

Guests will enjoy an open bar cocktail hour with hors d'oeuvres, followed by a 3-course sit-down dinner by Russell Morin Fine Catering. A silent auction starts online on March 11 at biddingforgood.com/gammtheatre and will conclude at the event. Music will be provided by The Hot Tamales, house band for The Gamm's recent production of A Street Car Named Desire. Tickets start at $175 per person.
