Arrival from Sweden Brings THE MUSIC OF ABBA To The VMA 1/16/2010

The ABBA cover band Arrival from Sweden brings their show, THE MUSIC OF ABBA, to the Veterans Memorial Auditorium (VMA) Arts & Cultural Center on Saturday, January 16 at 8P.

THE MUSIC OF ABBA features ABBA classics like "Dancing Queen," "Take a Chance on Me," and "Mamma Mia;" all of the music is performed live. The show also includes original ABBA band members Finn Sjöberg (guitar) Roger Palm (drums), Åke Sundqvist (percussion & drums), Janne Schaffer (guitar), Ulf Andersson (saxophone), Mats Ronander (guitar), Rutger Gunnarsson (bass), and Janne Kling (saxophone).

Arrival from Sweden was founded by Vicky Zetterburg in 1995; since then, the band has performed in more than 35 nations. Arrival from Sweden is the only group that has been authorized to replicate ABBA's original costumes for their performances.

Tickets for THE MUSIC OF ABBA are available at the PPAC Box Office and are $36 and $30; prices include a $2 per ticket facility fee. The PPAC Box Office is located at 220 Weybosset Street in downtown Providence. Regular Box Office Hours are Monday through Friday, 10A to 5P; Saturday 10A to 2P; and through curtain time(s) on show days. Patrons can also purchase tickets online at vmari.com or by phone at (401) 421-ARTS (2787). The on-site VMA Box Office, located at 1 Avenue of the Arts in Providence, will be open from noon to curtain time on Saturday, January 16 ONLY.
