More than $3,000 in prizes will be raffled off at the Twisted Vine on Tuesday, December 6th from 5 to 9 p.m. to benefit Renaissance City Theatre, Inc. (RCTI), the producers of year-round live theatre at Westerly's iconic Granite Theatre.
The Twisted Vine is donating a portion of the food and beverage revenue sold during the event. A donation of $5 is requested for entrance. This individual donation will entitle attendees to one (1) raffle ticket for three major door prizes, which include an overnight stay at Mohegan Sun, dinner there and two tickets to any Arena show; Jazz Brunch for four at the Ocean House; and, brunch for four at the Weekapaug Inn. Additional tickets for these prizes that will be drawn at intervals throughout the evening will be available for $5 each.
In addition, local merchants, along with private supporters of The Granite, have contributed more than $2000 worth of goods and services that will be raffled off in "12 Days of Christmas" gift baskets/boxes containing dinner gift cards, passes for many local attractions, a round-trip flight to Block Island and much, much more. Tickets to participate in the gift raffles will be sold in a set of 12 for $10 or a set of 25 for $20. Each with an individual's number multiplies chances to win.
The event will feature entertainment by the cast of "A Christmas Carol-the Musical" which opened at The Granite on November 25th and runs through December 23rd. The Chamber Chorus of Stonington High School will also sing Christmas carols. Santa Claus will be visiting as well as Scrooge, Bob Cratchet and his wife and there will be an opportunity to take "selfies with Scrooge" or Santa for a small donation. If you haven't gotten your Holiday card yet there'll be a chance to do just that or liven up your facebook page.
This event will help keep live theatre alive in Westerly year round for the more than 15,000 residents and visitors who attend 130 performances of eight major productions each year. This fundraiser will do that and provide funds for ongoing restoration projects of the historic theatre building also managed by RCTI.
Mark your calendar for Tuesday, December 6th!
