"I love this play. It is witty, unique, profound, magical, and very, very funny," says director Ed Shea. "I can't imagine a better way to spend a summer night than following the adventures of Elwood P. Dowd. It is a ‘fantastic' story, in every sense of the word."Affable Elwood P. Dowd and his Pooka (a 6 ½ foot invisible rabbit Harvey) have brought Elwood's sister Veta to the end of her rope. While trying to commit Elwood to a sanitarium, it's Veta who winds up in the doctor's care. When Elwood returns to the hospital in search of Harvey, and risks the doctor's interference on his sweet personality, Veta realizes that, in the end, she loves the kind-hearted Elwood just as he is.2nd Story Theatre is a professional, non-union company with a unique aesthetic and the highest artistic standards for excellence in the performance of great plays in its relaxed 130 seat black box theatre.
