Loft Ensemble in North Hollywood has announced its next production in Sawyer’s Playhouse (the company’s second stage), the world premiere of summertime, an interlude by aniello fontano. 

Peter and Will Anderson will debut at Jazz on Main in Mt Kisco, NY, with a performance saluting George Gershwin on Friday, August 31st at 7:00pm.

The talented actress and sometime playwright has appeared in dozens of shows in D.C. — and several at Signature, including an award-winning performance in its Ragtime last year. Here, she shares her passion for jazz singers from the golden era that have never gone out of style in a personable revue backed by a couple of ace musicians.

WALKIN’ AFTER MIDNIGHT will be released digitally on September 6 with a physical release scheduled for November 8 from Blix Street Records. The Irving Berlin standard “Blue Skies,” Bill Withers’ “Ain’t No Sunshine” and the title track, “Walkin’ After Midnight,” are now available via all digital outlets.  

Summertime and Shakespeare are a tried and true match. Every year across the country, theaters undoubtedly program Shakespeare into their schedules. This year Louisville’s own Drag Daddy Productions is getting in on the fun with a new and modern take on one of the Bard’s most well-known classics, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Artistic Director (and show director) Tony Lewis first conceived this piece in 2005, and now almost 20 years later has brought it to Louisville audiences.
