Park Theatre announces a summer movie series for children, offering a variety of family-friendly films.

With an original score by local recording artist Sean Mendelson, and a script adaptation by Playful People Artistic Director Katie D'Arcey, The Marshmallow Incident features a colorful cast of characters, a multitude of marshmallows, and a whole lot of laughs.

Playful People Productions is seeking performers ages 12-112 for the original musical 'The Marshmallow Incident' based on the beloved book by Judi Barrett and Ron Barrett. Auditions will be held in San Jose on February 12-13, 2024. Registration is open now.

The movie also features new music by Miranda. It's directed by Oscar nominee Kirk DeMicco (The Croods), co-directed by Brandon Jeffords (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2), and written by Quiara Alegria Hudes (In the Heights).

Vivo, a musically gifted kinkajou (aka a rainforest 'honey bear') embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to deliver a song to his cherished owner's long-lost love, with the help of Gabi - an energetic tween who bounces to the beat of her own offbeat drum.

Imprint Family Entertainment will focus on creating, developing and producing family content across all medias, including film, TV and podcasts.

On each of the two days, Playful People will stream one of the children's cast productions at 1pm, and a youth/family production at 5pm. Each streaming will be preceded by a one-hour pre-party with various activities (some including marshmallows) and interviews with cast members, and will be followed by a 30-minute post-show where cast members can gather on screen and reminisce.
