Broadway Sings Blood Rock: The Musical – Bonus Edition, a special edition EP comprised of 7 songs from the acclaimed 2018 stage play Blood Rock: The Musical created by Michael Berns, has received a worldwide release exclusively on iTunes and Apple Music.

Now more than ever, the students might be the future. The education department of a theatre company has long been an important piece of the business model - but that might be more true now than it has ever been before. While audiences still can’t come into most of our performance spaces, students are still able to be reached in digital ways. These digital programs not only increase access, they are increasing the number of students (of all ages) who are able to engage with theatre in an all new way. In a time of continued social distancing, what we are learning about bridging that distance will be important for us to remember when we no longer have to stay apart out of necessity for public health. This week, we’ve got stories about connecting with audiences, with students, and continually questioning what our performance spaces should look like, along with stories about the ongoing economic impact of the shutdowns.

Featuring four top Broadway stars: 2019 Tony Award nominee Damon Daunno (Curly in Broadway's 'Oklahoma!'); 1987 Tony Award nominee Robert Torti (Greaseball from 'Starlight Express'); Andy Mientus (Broadway's 'Les Misérables' and the Pied Piper on the CW series 'The Flash'); and Jennifer DiNola (Elphaba in Broadway's 'Wicked'), 'Broadway Sings Blood Rock: The Musical' is currently under consideration for a 2021 Grammy Award in the category of 'Best Musical Theatre Album.'

Songwriter, vocalist, and music producer Michael Berns has been keeping busy during these quarantined times producing a six-song EP of his theatrical show BLOOD ROCK: THE MUSICAL. With the able vocal assist from his Broadway friends (Andy Mientus, Damon Daunno, Jennifer DiNola and Robert Torti), and his new writing partner Ralph Pezzullo, Broadway Sings Blood Rock The Musical has been created.
