Portland Center Stage will present 'a seagull,' a unique adaptation of Chekhov's classic by Portland Experimental Theatre Ensemble, marking the culmination of a decade-long series of translated Chekhov shows.

PCS will present PETE’s a seagull, June 29-July 13 in the Ellyn Bye Studio Theatre at Portland Center Stage.

Director Sammi Cannold is one of Broadway's most up-and-coming creatives, having made her Broadway debut earlier this season with How to Dance in Ohio. While she is hard at work on some exciting new projects, Sammi recently shared a PSA to fellow artists, which you can read in full here.

Artist and songwriter Peter Voss-Knude has released the first single, 'The More' off of his upcoming LP, The Anti-Terror Album. 'The More' was released with a visual album trailer for the LP set to be released January 20th along with a solo exhibition presented through the Danish Museum of Contemporary Art.

Tori who was named as one of the BBC'S New Talent Hotlist in 2017 is excited to be premiering the new work in a reading at The Park as part of the Prism Project on Wednesday April 10th at 4pm. The reading is open to all, industry and public alike and tickets are free via Eventbrite.

Producing a show in a festival setting can be a harrowing experience. There are many things that can get in your way. Things like a small playing space, bad acoustics and everyone's favorite, a fifteen-minute set up and strike time.

Auditions for A.E. Gill's Oedipus, an original adaptation of Sophocles' classic tragedy set in modern day Appalachia, will begin in April at the Alban Arts Center in Saint Albans, WV. Oedipus examines the clash between politics, Christianity and the will of man while exploring fate, pride and the demise of those in power.

I have seen Scott this year in two different productions of Gypsy. He played the character Herbie in both of them. I'm inordinately fond of that show and have been a little in love with Herbie since I first saw the film sometime in the late '60s, with Karl Malden in the role. There have been many fine Herbies along the way, but none hit as many of the character's emotional and dramatic notes as did Scott in both productions, even surpassing Malden, in my view.
