Bare Theatre and Raleigh Little Theatre present, in collaboration with Cirque de Vol Studios, William Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors.
Bare Theatre’s Managing Director G. Todd Buker reimagines this farce in the world of an old-fashioned circus. Taking place in the open air Raleigh Little Theatre’s outdoor stage by the Rose Garden, the show is both circus and theatre.
The story revolves around two sets of identical twin brothers separated at birth. Antipholus of Syracuse and his servant, Dromio, seek out their brothers (who happen to have the same names) in Ephesus. Antipholus ignores the woman who thinks she’s his wife and instead pursues her sister, while friends and business associates mistake him and Dromio for their local counterparts.
Add to the confusion of mistaken identities and quirky characters jugglers, trapeze artists, and fire eaters, for an evening that will captivate the whole family. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early, bring a picnic or sample the local food trucks, and watch pre-show circus acts.
