William Peace University, a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that it will be host the South Carolina Broadcasters harmonic trio in concert Thursday, Nov. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The South Carolina Broadcasters will sing in Kenan Auditorium as part of the university's 2013-2014 performing arts season.
With current WPU student Sarah Osborne '15 (banjo) joining Ivy Sheppard (fiddle) and David Sheppard (guitar), the South Carolina Broadcasters energetically present music sung and played in a style they call "Southern children going forward at top volume." From heart stomping love songs to rowdy gospel numbers, there is a rare beauty and honesty in the trio's music. Be it an old standard out of the hymnal or a song from their own pen, their music is alive. The trio has shared the stage with Ralph Stanley, Taj Mahal, Ricky Skaggs, the Carolina Chocolate Drops and many others.
Tickets are $10 for adults, senior citizens, alumni, faculty and staff, and $5 for students and children. To register and purchase tickets, visit http://bit.ly/1gYplFE.
