William Peace University, a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that the next installment of its 2013-2014 Lunch and Learn Series will feature the Rev. Dr. R. Lee Carter, the university's William C. Bennett Chaplain, discussing "The Myths We Live By." The presentation will be held Wednesday, Nov. 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Main Parlor building on campus. Carter will explain how myths have emerged as stories that have developed over time, how these stories influence an individual's perception of the world and how understanding myths can provide direction for an individual during the various stages of life.

Throughout the academic year, the William Peace University Lunch and Learn Series features presentations from both resident and visiting faculty, as well as guest researchers, lecturers, and experts from across multiple majors, topics, and industries. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and the greater Raleigh community are welcome to attend. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and include a bag lunch for all attendees. "We are excited to have our own resident chaplain presenting at the November session of our Lunch and Learn Series," said Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D., president of William Peace University. "This series serves as a wonderful way to highlight the work and expertise within our university as well as the greater educational community, and we look forward to welcoming those interested onto our campus to join in the discussion."
