One of Durham's favorite improv companies, Third Date, and actor-musician-and local legend, Dana Marks, join forces for a special one night only performance at Common Ground Theatre tonight, September 26th. This show is the company's second collaboration with Ms. Marks. She last appeared with Third Date in August of 2013, and the company has looked for opportunities to collaborate with her ever since.
"Dana is one of my favorite performers in the Triangle," said director Dan Sipp. "What's surprising is that even though she's a classically trained actor, she's a very intuitive improviser. All of the specificity in her movements and the truthfulness of her emotions on stage make her a joy to play with. She's a great fit for our style, and we're very lucky to have her back again for this show."
The cast may be different, but the company's style remains the same: Scenes that are a comic and sometimes bittersweet exploration of relationships with partners, family, friends, and co-workers. They reflect the joys, surprises and everyday frustrations of life in our weird, wonderful world.
Durham physician and author Ray Barfield will open the show with a talk about the importance of storytelling in medicine.Buy advanced tickets on-line @: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2239588
