"We are beyond excited to be offering our patrons an American Classic for the first time," said Lauren Kennedy, Artistic Director of Theatre Raleigh. "It is thrilling to have Director Michael Berry back this summer after the success of last summer's hit, A Few Good Men."
Winner of the Drama Critics' Award for Best New Play in 1947, All My Sons by Arthur Miller is the sad Post-World War II story about the Kellers, a seemingly "All American" family. But the father, Joe Keller, has concealed a great sin. Joe Keller (Mitch Poulos*) and Herbert Deever, partners in a machine shop during the war, turned out defective airplane parts, causing the deaths of over twenty American pilots. Deever was sent to prison while Keller escaped punishment and went on to be financially successful. In a work of tremendous power, a love affair between Keller's son, Chris (Charlie Brady), and Herbert's daughter, Ann Deever (Meagan Chieppor), the bitterness of George Deever (Estes Tarver*), who returns from the war to find his father in prison and his father's partner free, and the reaction of a son to his father's guilt escalate toward a climax of electrifying intensity.
