"There is such an electricity that radiates off of the stage when you have actors who are true musicians playing their own music live on stage, this is what is called for in Million Dollar Quartet. You get that thrilling mix of the magic of Live Theatre as well as the adrenaline rush of a concert. We all know who these icons grew up to be. This show offers an engaging insider's view into the early life and creation of these legends while also delivering many of their biggest hits," said Tim Seib, Director.
The smash-hit musical, Million Dollar Quartet, inspired by the famed recording session where Sam Phillips (David McClutchey), the "Father of Rock 'n' Roll" brought together music icons Elvis Presley (Joe Boover), Johnny Cash (Ted Bushman), Jerry Lee Lewis (Ian Fairlee) and Carl Perkins (Michael Kennedy) for the first and only time.
On December 4, 1956, these four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever. Million Dollar Quartet brings that legendary night to life, featuring a score of rock hits including "Blue Suede Shoes," "Fever," "That's All Right," "Sixteen Tons," "Great Balls of Fire," "Walk the Line," "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On," "Who Do You Love?," "Matchbox," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Hound Dog" and more.
