South Stream Productions announces the production of Copenhagen, by Michael Frayn. The play will open tonight, January 4, 2013 at Common Ground Theatre in Durham and will run the following weekend starting Friday, January 11 at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro.

WHY DO WE DO THE THINGS WE DO? A simple question. But sometimes there is more than one answer. That's where it gets complicated.

In 1941 German physicist Werner Heisenberg went to Copenhagen to see his friend and mentor, Danish physicist Niels Bohr. Together they had revolutionized atomic science in the 1920s, but now they were on opposite sides of a world war. In this incisive Tony Award -winning drama by the prominent British playwright Michael Frayn, the ghosts of the participants, or perhaps the ghosts of the questions they left behind, return to the events of 1941 to argue their meanings and to try to understand their own motives.

Copenhagen is directed by Andy Hayworth and features John Honeycutt as Neils Bohr, Brook North as Werner Heisenberg, and Bonnie Roe as Margrethe Bohr.
