"It's humbling to work on a piece that is considered a classic in children's literature, as the story, and its timeless message of what it means to be a friend, resonates with so many people. For some in the audience, it will be their first experience with the theater and I'm honored to have a hand in introducing E.B. White's story to a new generation of children; for others, it will be a chance to reminisce on their own childhood and their first encounter with "Charlotte's Web." As a director, it's exciting to be a part of this nostalgic exchange of traditions and memories," said Dyke.
"Charlotte's Web" runs April 8th - 17th in the Cantey V. Sutton Theatre. The adaptation is by Joseph Robinette. Tickets for all events at RLT can be purchased by calling the box office (919)-821-3111, Monday through Friday, noon to 5:00 p.m., or by visiting the theatre's website at www.raleighlittletheatre.org.
On April 17th, the North Carolina Museum of Art will hold a free art making event for the whole family in the Raleigh Rose Garden from 11:30 to 4:30. More information can be found at the NCMA website at http://ncartmuseum.org/calendar/event/2016/04/17/pop_up_art_in_the_community/1130.
On April 20th, RLT will have a special audio described performance of the play sponsored by a City of Raleigh Arts Commission Technical Assistance Grant. Tickets for this performance are discounted and are just $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.
